mexican hot chocolate on a rainy day

so for our first post, we would like to share with you the following (our own modified recipe of mexican hot chocolate!):
1 cup half and half
3 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1 and 1/3 cup chocolate chips
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

put all ingredients in a large saucepan and continually whisk for about 8 minutes (or until everythang is all melted and such), but don't let it boil!

*technically makes 4 servings, but it can be for 2 people who just really like hot chocolate also :)

thanks to ms. rachel ray and our own ingenuity, we just had THE BEST mexican hot chocolate ever to be created...and the fact that its hailing helped too :)

  1. so me and my sister tried to make this, but our mother convinced us cayenne pepper was the same as chili powder. also we may have put more like 1/2 a teaspoon instead of a 1/4. but we could definitely taste the chocolate tastiness underneath the spiciness!
